10 Things About Facebook Messenger

Most of us are already aware about Facebook messenger app. It is very popular free messaging app from Facebook with more than billion monthly users in a month. Messenger app is used for sending messages and chatting with your connected friends and profiles. You can also share photos, audios and videos through this app personally or in group.

Messenger is free. You can use messenger from your Facebook account, or you can access messenger from desktop through messenger.com. Even if you don’t have Facebook account still you can use messenger app separately. You can use messenger on android, iOS and windows by installing the official messenger app on respective platform.

Facebook has come up with the new design for messenger app in Jan with three tabs Chats, People and Discover. So, they have made it easier for users, chat tab shows the stories or conversation details. People tab shows list of your contacts and Discover tab is to search something or to play games or interact with other fb pages.

Messenger is not limited to messaging it keeps on adding new features to the app. You can find different buttons like camera, image, microphone, thumbs up, smiley and 4 dots at the bottom of any chat where there is a text field.

There is also gradient color option if you want to add color to your chats, where you can tap on the person’s name or group’s name to set the color by selecting color in settings.

While chatting if you want to access camera or start a voice call or video call with a person or a group you just have to swipe right. Similarly, when you swipe to the left you can go to the menu, see notifications and have option to delete something.

Like other payment apps messenger also gives you option to request for money or pay money to your connected contacts. For this, you first need to add your debit card details to messenger by going to profile>>payments and then adding your debit card details.

You have option to play in built games on messenger. You just have to tap on plus icon on bottom left and then click on games icon. You will find the games and choose among them to play.

Similarly, on clicking that plus button on bottom left you can plan your holidays with Kayak, book restaurants with OpenTable, share songs from Apple Music & Spotify, share news from Wall Street Journal and share recipes from Food Network.

You can use scribble chat option in messenger to change your chat conversation text in 3d format. Just tap the plus sign in bottom left and swipe left to get into scribble chat for more fun.

As per recent updates, Facebook is planning to integrate Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram soon so that users can use cross platforms and avail benefits. They might also be adding more new features to messenger app.
